Project “European Research Infrastructure for Science, Technology and Innovation policy Studies 2 (RISIS2)”
Funding agency: European Commission
Principal investigator: Prof. Massimo Colombo (Politecnico di Milano)
Years: 2019-2022
Amount: 820,750 Euros (Politecnico di Milano)
This project is funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 project. The European Research infrastructure for science, technology and innovation policy studies (RISIS2) aims at building a data and services infrastructure supporting the development of a new generation of analyses and indicators for evidence-based policy-making. This project builds on RISIS1 (2014-18), which has demonstrated the relevance of such an approach and opened access to a first set of databases and services. RISIS2 gathers 19 partners aiming to transform the field of STI studies into an advanced research community. Politecnico di Milano is responsible for maintaining and updating the VICO dataset, which contains information on more than 30,000 young European companies that received early-stage equity financing (e.g., venture capital, angel financing) during the period 1998-2018.
