Bio

Luca Grilli, BSc in Economics (University of Siena, Italy, cum laude, 1997), MSc in Economics (University of York, UK, 2001), PhD in Economics (University of Siena, Italy, 2004), is Full Professor of Business and Management Engineering at Politecnico di Milano (Italy). Member of the Economic Mindset group (www.mindset.polimi.it) at the School of Management (www.som.polimi.it), his main research interests revolve around the economics of innovation, entrepreneurial finance and entrepreneurship. He has participated in numerous scientific projects, promoted by private institutions, Italian public regulatory agencies, Italian public research institutions (CNR; MIUR) and he was the local principal investigator for a recent (years 2015-2018) pan-European project sponsored by the European Commission (i.e. the H2020 Research in Action project FIRES, www.projectfires.eu) among others. He has published articles in several international scientific journals and acted as an editor for books and journal special issues. More specifically, his articles appeared (among others) in the following journals: Economics Letters, Energy Policy, International Journal of Industrial Organization, Industrial and Corporate Change, International Small Business Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of Small Business Management, Journal of Economics & Management Strategy, Journal of Corporate Finance, Regional Studies, Research Policy, Small Business Economics, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and Technological Forecasting and Social Change. He has also been a Visiting Professor at SPRU- Science and Technology Policy Research of the University of Sussex (UK) and a former member of technical ministerial committees on the monitoring and evaluation of policies aiming at sustaining the Italian eco-system of innovative start-ups.
